Virginia Tech students will showcase their study abroad experiences to one of the most exotic corners of the world, the Himalayans, on Tuesday, February 22, in Cheatham Hall of the Blacksburg campus. The exhibit will run from 5 to 9 p.m., while the personal presentations will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. The public is welcome and refreshments will be served.

Under the direction of Tom Hammett, professor of wood science and forest products in the College of Natural Resources, a group of students journeyed to Sikkim for a two month-long course in the Himalayan mountains of India to study that culture, its influence on natural resources, and the rich diversity abounding there.

The students will use a variety of media and cultural artifacts to showcase their learning experience. For more information, contact (540) 231-2716, or himal@vt.edu.
