Virginia Tech Union will host Winterfest on Saturday, Feb. 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Commonwealth Ballroom of Squires Student Center.

Winterfest is an indoor carnival with moon bounces, magicians, performing groups, and games. These activities are open to kids, students, and adults free of charge. There will be popcorn, snow cones, and cotton candy. This year, Winterfest features booths from campus organizations, which will each have fun activities.

Each year, this annual event brings approximately 1,000 Blacksburg residents to campus to enjoy a day inside while feeling as if they are at an outdoor carnival. Winterfest was started in 1992 as a simple activity consisting mostly of arts and crafts, but has added new activities each year. New this year is the participation of off campus businesses and vendors.

Winterfest provides a good opportunity to escape the cold and have some fun. The public is invited to come out on Saturday, Feb. 27 to enjoy a favorite carnival experience indoors.
