Haydn Michael Woodall, 20, of Glen Allen, Virginia, a sophomore majoring in biochemistry, died April 11 in a car accident in Montgomery County, just outside Blacksburg.

Woodall was born Nov. 21, 1994. He is survived by his parents, Kermit and Shealor Woodall of Glen Allen, his older sister, Madeline Woodall of Glen Allen, maternal grandparents Preston and Jean Willis of Montpelier, and his paternal grandmother, Suzy Woodall of Williamsburg. He is also survived by several uncles, aunts and cousins.

A lover of film and fashion, Woodall was a bon vivant, a stylish dresser, and an irrepressible free spirit. He was kind, compassionate, witty, intelligent, curious and charming. Woodall viewed the world through a kaleidoscope of his own colors and never met an article of Comme des Garçons clothing that he didn’t like. He was our beautiful boy and the world will be a less beautiful place without him in it.

Woodall’s family will receive friends in a celebration of his life from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, at Bennett’s Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad St. in Glen Allen, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Haydn’s name to BARK — Bandit's Adoption and Rescue of K-9s — in Ashland, Virginia.
