Following six months of renovation and construction, the Special Collections Reading Room in Newman Library has now re-opened. Hours of operation are 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays through Fridays.

Located directly across from the main entrance on the first floor of Newman Library, Special Collections collects and preserves unique historical materials and provides access to them in their original form. Holdings include manuscript collections, rare books, and the University Archives, as well as state, local, and historical maps and photographs. Both the Virginia Tech community and the general public are invited to use the resources.
