Governor Timothy M. Kaine announced the reappointment of three current Virginia Tech Board of Visitor members. They are:

  • Michael G. Anzilotti of Fairfax County, Va., president of Virginia Commerce Bancorp, Inc. Anzilotti currently serves as chair of the Student Affairs Committee.
  • Sandra S. Lowe of Fairfax County, Va., a consultant in health education and technology. Lowe is currently chair of the Academic Affairs Committee.
  • James W. Severt, Sr. of Martinsville, Va., a private investor for the Severt Company. Severt serves on the Buildings and Grounds Committee.


The Board of Visitors is composed of 14 members, 13 of whom are appointed by the governor, subject to confirmation by the Senate. The term of office for a board member is four years, and the member is eligible to be reappointed for a successive four year term.
