About 150 employers have signed up to attend the 25th annual Business Horizons career fair of Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business on Thursday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Squires Student Center Commonwealth and Old Dominion ballrooms.

The career fair, organized annually by Pamplin undergraduates, gives Pamplin students and recruiters a good opportunity to meet and interact with each other in an informal setting. Many employers who attend Business Horizons return to campus during the fall semester to do first-round interviews for new hire and internship positions, said Gary Kinder, Pamplin’s career services director for undergraduate programs.

To make the most effective use of their time, students have been advised to prepare for the event by doing research on the companies at the Business Horizons web site. Students can find out which majors are in demand at various companies and learn more about each company in general, Kinder said. The site also provides pointers on getting resumés to recruiters, dressing appropriately for the event, and registering for on-campus interviews.
