Terry Clements named Council of Educators of Landscape Architecture first vice-president

Terry L. Clements, associate professor of landscape architecture in the School of Architecture + Design, College of Architecture and Urban Studies, was elected to serve as first vice-president of the Council of Educators of Landscape Architecture (CELA).

Clements will begin the one-year term at the conclusion of the CELA Annual Board Meeting to be held in Maastrict, the Netherlands, on May 11, 2010.

The CELA is composed of virtually all of the programs of landscape architecture in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. As first vice-president, Clements's duties will include conducting an annual review and update of the CELA strategic plan, presenting priorities and initiatives for the upcoming year to the executive committee, and coordinating with the treasurer on the budget for these initiatives.

Clements, of Blacksburg, received a master's in landscape architecture from the University of California at Berkeley and a bachelor's of landscape architecture from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
