Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets alumnus Delegate Rich Anderson of the Virginia House of Delegates who earned a degree in political science from the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences in 1979 will be speaking to the entire regiment on Dec. 2.

His presentation is part of the Leaders in Action lecture series hosted each term by the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets and the Maj. Gen. W. Thomas Rice Center for Leader Development. It will start at 3:30 p.m. in the Burruss Hall auditorium and is open to the public.

Anderson is a 30 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired as a colonel in 2009. He successfully ran for office in the 51st district of the Virginia House of Delegates in 2010. Anderson is a member of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets Class of 1978 and served as the executive officer in Bravo Company during his senior year. Upon finishing his degree, he commissioned in the U.S. Air Force in 1979.

Anderson and his wife Ruth, a retired 21-year U.S. Air Force veteran, have four children.
