Virginia Tech Intellectual Properties Inc. will showcase Virginia Tech cyber security technologies, mobile communications, therapeutics, and more at the inaugural TechStorm on June 2 at the Mason Inn in Fairfax, Va. TechStorm is the first national event focused exclusively on matching innovative university technologies with entrepreneurs and seed funding opportunities,

The technologies being exhibited by VTIP will include

  • Privacy-aware data loss prevention;
  • Wireless and mobile communications technologies;
  • Vortex-assisted electroporation;
  • Manipulation of platelet aggregation;
  • A fiberoptic micro-needle device; and
  • Power monitoring to detect unauthorized software running on a device.

TechStorm is a national event exclusively focused on matching innovative technologies developed at universities and federal labs with entrepreneurs and in-licensing professionals. The June 2 event features participation from pre-vetted entrepreneurs, a pre-event matching program, and a seed funding program for start-ups launched as a result of connections made at TechStorm.

The event is open to the technology transfer professionals and researchers from academic institutions and federal labs, corporate in-licensing executives, entrepreneurs, investors, and others interested in contributing to the advancement of innovative technologies to market.

TechStorm is being organized by InnovateTech Ventures, and co-hosted by Amplifier, George Mason University, and the Academic Licensing Community of Virginia (ALCOVe).
