Wiljeana J. Glover is the recipient of a $15,000 Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO) Scholar Award for 2011-2012.  

A recent graduate of Virginia Tech, she was recommended to the PEO Chapter in Radford, Va., by her doctoral advisor, Eileen Van Aken, a professor in the Grado Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech.

A postdoctoral associate with the Lean Advancement Initiative at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Glover is a member of the team working with the military health system to assess and make strategic and operational improvement recommendations for the psychological health care system for service members and their families.  

Her research interests include: healthcare system performance improvement; the integration of organizations within enterprises; the sustainability of change and transformation efforts; and performance measurement.   

Glover received her Ph.D. and master's degrees in industrial and systems engineering from Virginia Tech, her bachelor's degree in industrial and systems engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and another bachelor's degree in mathematics from Albany State University.

PEO, a 142 year old organization, has a membership of over a quarter of a million women with chapters in all 50 states and in Canada.  The mission of the organization is to educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and stewardship of Cottey College, a women's accredited liberal arts college in Nevada, Mo.
