Nike’s North America brand account director Cindy King will discuss, “Strategic Brand and Retail Partnerships,” as the keynote speaker at the Oct. 26-27 Atlantic regional conference of business fraternity Pi Sigma Epsilon at Virginia Tech.
Pamplin College of Business Dean Richard E. Sorensen, the Virginia Tech chapter’s founder and mentor, will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award during an evening celebration.
Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE) is the national, co-ed fraternity for collegians and professionals in sales, marketing, and management.
The conference, to be held at the Holiday Inn in Blacksburg, Va., will feature two days of business development seminars, networking opportunities with professional and collegiate members, and various contests, including the Pro-Am Sell-A-Thon competition, conducted at each regional conference.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their parachute pants for a “totally 80’s” theme at the conference, said marketing instructor Donna Wertalik, the chapter’s faculty advisor and a vice president on PSE’s national council.
“We’re expecting more than 100 students to attend,” Wertalik said. Member schools in the Atlantic region are: the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, Appalachian State University, Winston-Salem State University, Elon University, James Madison University, Norfolk State University, George Mason University, North Carolina A&T State University, and Radford University.
