Five people were injured Friday at Davidson Hall when scaffolding outside the building collapsed.

Three of the injured were taken to a local hospital after the collapse occurred at about 11:45 a.m. None of the injuries are life-threatening, said Kevin Foust, the university's deputy chief of police and assistant director of security. Two additional people were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The accident is under investigation, Foust said.

Davidson Hall houses laboratories, classrooms, and offices for the Department of Chemistry in the College of Science. It is undergoing a two-year renovation that will provide 45,000 square feet of state-of-the-art lab space and a new lecture hall that will seat 300 people.
