Perry Martin, Lucy Adams, and Lindsey Gleason have joined VT Engage: The Community Learning Collaborative to expand the department’s community learning, engagement, and communications programs. 

VT Engage offers meaningful service opportunities open to everyone in the Virginia Tech community that focus on engaged learning and encourage reflection.

Martin oversees the office’s service learning and AmeriCorps VISTA programs as senior associate director of community learning. He comes from the Office of the Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion, where he developed the Strong Together campaign to promote the Virginia Tech Principles of Community. Martin holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs, both from Virginia Tech.

Adams coordinates service programs as an engagement program associate, including Get On the Bus and service immersion trips. Previously, Adams served in AmeriCorps, connecting families with social service resources. Adams graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in wildlife science.

Gleason, communications and administrative coordinator, manages the department's website and social media channels, and writes news stories focused on student volunteerism. She comes from Radford University’s School of Nursing, where she supported personnel and fiscal activities. Previously, she worked for Accion, an international microfinance nonprofit. Gleason holds a bachelor’s degree in international affairs from Northeastern University.
