On an upcoming Friday night, Virginia Tech students can briefly forget about the pressures of school work and focus on making fun memories with their friends.

GobblerNights, hosted by Student Centers and Activities, will be held Friday, Feb. 21, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. in Squires Student Center.

Events are free for Virginia Tech students. Students can create personalized dog tags, street signs, and stuffed animals. Kettle corn and hot cider from Hethwood Market and a midnight meal sponsored by the Edge Apartments will be provided.

Other events include ice skating in the Graduate Life Center plaza; line dancing with Zeta Pi Beta Sorority Inc., Omega Chi Zeta Chapter; the Party Positive Bar; and the Virginia Tech Police drunk driving simulator.

Students are invited to come out for these and other events. The hashtag for the event is #GobblerNights on Twitter, and students are invited to post pictures of the fun.

In addition, there will be

  • Giveaways, courtesy of Foxridge Apartment Homes;
  • Free T-shirts to the first 150 Hokies to arrive from Exper-T’s; and
  • Online giveaway for the 25th student to tweet during the event, courtesy of the Village at Blacksburg.

Another GobblerNights will be offered on May 2. Watch Virginia Tech News for more information on the activities that will be offered at this event later in the semester.
