Veterinary service fraternity to host Easter egg hunt on April 19
Families with young children will have an opportunity to celebrate the arrival of spring at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine on Saturday, April 19.
Omega Tau Sigma, a veterinary service fraternity, will host the annual Easter egg hunt on the college’s Blacksburg campus, located at 245 Duck Pond Drive. The event, which is free and open to the public, starts promptly at 10 a.m. It will be held rain or shine.
This year’s event will feature live bunnies courtesy of Field of Daisies Rabbit Rescue. In addition, the Easter Bunny will be on hand to greet visitors. The event will include games, balloon animals, and a rabbit handling and care demonstration.
Participating children only need to bring a basket or other container to hold any eggs they may find. All other materials will be provided.
Omega Tau Sigma focuses on service, fundraising, and social activities at the veterinary college. Students organize a number of community programs, including a Relay for Life team, blood drives, and canned food drives. The group recently cosponsored a Casino Night fundraiser that raised $9,000 for the veterinary hospital’s Compassionate Care Fund.
