The Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets regimental band, the Highty-Tighties, will be performing in two upcoming concerts.  

As part of Spring Family Weekend, the Southern Colonels, the Corps of Cadets 18-piece jazz orchestra, will perform at the fourth annual “Jazz on the Lawn” event starting at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25, on Henderson Lawn along College Avenue in downtown Blacksburg. Blankets and lawn chairs are encouraged. The group will play music from the big band swing era, Latin, rock, and patriotic music.

On Sunday, May 4, the Highty-Tighties concert band will hold their annual concert beginning at 5 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Anne and Ellen Fife Theatre at the Moss Arts Center located at 190 Alumni Mall. 

Led by Maj. George McNeill, the Highty-Tighties will perform a variety of works from classical to contemporary to patriotic. The band will entertain the audience with a stirring arrangement of "Strike of the Band," Ferdinand Herord’s "Zampa Overture," "Silver Celebration," "Hymn to the Fallen," John Philip Sousa’s "Stars and Stripes" and more.

Both concerts are free and open to all. No tickets are required. Parking information is available online.
