The Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts will present concerts by Tech Men and the Women’s Chorus on Monday, April 27, and the Chamber Singers on Tuesday, May 5.

Both concerts will be at 7:30 p.m. in the Anne and Ellen Fife Theatre, located within the Moss Arts Center’s Street and Davis Performance Hall at 190 Alumni Mall.

The Virginia Tech Chamber Singers' final concert of the season will act as a preview for their upcoming tour in Ireland as part of the American Celebration of Music in Ireland. After a rigorous application and audition process, the Chamber Singers will be traveling to Ireland on May 17 where they will spend 10 days performing and sightseeing in Galway, Killarney, and Dublin.

Faculty member and director Dwight Bigler says this opportunity “allows students to travel abroad and experience different cultures while strengthening the unity among the ensemble members.”

The Tech Men and Women’s Chorus will also be presenting their hard work in their final performance of the year in a combined concert. Tech Men will perform styles ranging from barbershop doo-wop to classical all male choral works. In honor of the Anne and Ellen Fife Theatre, the Women’s Chorus will perform "O Aula Nobilis" composed by William Mathias. The text translates to:

O noble hall and pride of the school,
Of all halls the most outstanding,
Adorned by the skills of many men,
Echoing this day with the songs of young girls;
We wish you well, we praise you:
Prosper from generation to generation!
