The Roanoke Symphony Orchestra returns to the Moss Arts Center for a third year to celebrate the joyous sounds of the holiday season with a sold-out performance of “Holiday Pops” at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5.

The Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech and the New River Valley Friends of the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra  present the performance in the Anne and Ellen Fife Theatre, located within the Moss Arts Center’s Street and Davis Performance Hall at 190 Alumni Mall.

David Stewart Wiley, music director and conductor, will lead the orchestra as it performs its most popular concert of the year, which will include beloved holiday carols, sacred classics, and audience sing-a-longs.

The Roanoke Symphony Orchestra will be joined by the Virginia Tech Choirs under the direction of Dwight Bigler, assistant professor in Virginia Tech’s School of Performing Arts and director of choral activities, and Taylor Baldwin, Tech Men’s choral director.

Also featured will be Midwest Emmy-winning soprano Adrienne Danrich, who most recently sang the role of Serena in George Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess” with Dayton Opera and Sister Rose in Jake Heggie’s “Dead Man Walking” with Fort Worth Opera. On the concert stage, Danrich has performed selections from “Porgy and Bess” with  the San Francisco Symphony and the Rigoletto Quartet, and “Porgy and Bess Suite” with the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Parking is available in the North End Parking Garage on Turner Street. Virginia Tech faculty and staff possessing a valid Virginia Tech parking permit can enter and exit the garage free of charge. Limited street parking is also available. Parking on Alumni Mall is free on weekdays after 5 p.m. and on weekends.
