May 4 update: Town hall meetings will be held on Wednesday. They will include:

 

The first Destination Area town hall meeting — Intelligent Infrastructure and Human Centered Communities — begins at 10 a.m. Monday in the Graduate Life Center on the Blacksburg campus. Faculty members will hear a brief overview of the Destination Area process, which will also be streamed on the web, and then have the opportunity to participate in round table discussions.

Meanwhile, faculty members in the National Capital Region have options to participate in the round tables via WebEX. Remote locations are set up in Room 103 in the Northern Virginia Center in Falls Church, the Foggy Bottom Room in the Virginia Tech Research Center-Arlington; and Potomac Room 310 at 1021 Prince St., Alexandria.

Faculty in Blacksburg who want to take part in the table discussions have the opportunity to do so at the meeting in the Graduate Life Center.

Provost Thanassis Rikakis said faculty perspective is essential to focus and define the Destination Areas.

“Many of you have been involved – but we need all of you to play a part in this ground-up focus and implementation on campus,” Rikakis said in a letter to faculty members this week.
