Chandan Reddy has been appointed associate professor in the Department of Computer Science in the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech.

Reddy’s research involves the development of novel algorithms for data analytics with applications to a wide range of real-world domains, such as health care, crowdfunding, bioinformatics, social networks, and business intelligence.

His long-term research goal is to develop robust and reliable computational models with concrete theoretical foundations that have a wide scope of applicability across various disciplines.

Reddy is located at the Northern Virginia Center in the National Capital Region.

He has published two books and over 70 peer-reviewed articles in leading conferences and journals. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and life member of the Association for Computing Machinery.

Reddy earned his bachelor’s degree from Pondicherry University, a master’s degree from Michigan State University, and a doctoral degree Cornell University.

Reddy is one of 27 new faculty members that were hired in the university's College of Engineering.
