Sarah Clinton has been named as an associate professor in the School of Neuroscience at Virginia Tech, part of the College of Science.

Clinton focuses her research on animal models relevant to psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders, including depression and anxiety, to study how perturbations of brain development may lead to life-long emotional and/or cognitive dysfunction.

She earned a bachelor of science from the University of Pittsburgh in 1999, and a doctoral degree from the University of Michigan in 2004, both in neuroscience. Also, she previously worked as an assistant professor with the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Department of Psychiatry.

Clinton is one of 18 tenured and tenure-track faculty members to join the College of Science and the new School of Neuroscience at Virginia Tech this year.
