The Farm2Fork Affair — a trade show expo designed to introduce agricultural producers from the northern Shenandoah Valley to buyers representing restaurants, grocers, hotels, and bed-and-breakfasts — will be held March 6, 2017, from noon to 4 p.m., at the Mimslyn Inn in Luray, Virginia.

Producers will display their goods, provide samples, and share information about their farming practices and products. Buyers from across the state will have the opportunity to interact with area producers and learn about the products available from local farms.

John Hoffman, executive chef of Keswick Hall & Golf Club in Keswick, Virginia, will deliver the keynote address at 12:30 p.m. Chef John will focus on the importance of using locally grown foods.

"The quality and diversity of the Shenandoah Valley's agriculture combined with our convenient location makes our farms an obvious choice for restaurants and retailers wanting to source local, sustainable ingredients. This event brings producers and buyers to one place, making it a worthwhile investment of everyone’s time," said French Price, Farm to Table coordinator for Virginia Cooperative Extension.

The Farm2Fork Affair is being organized by Virginia Cooperative Extension, Harrisonburg Tourism, Rockingham County Economic Development and Tourism, Shenandoah County Tourism, Page County Economic Development, Fields of Gold Farm Trail, and the Winchester-Fredrick County Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Event sponsors include Sysco, Mid-Atlantic Farm Credit, Virginia Grown, Shenandoah County Farm Bureau, the Mimslyn Inn, and the Virginia Restaurant, Lodging, & Travel Association.
