Blacksburg Transit (BT): Blacksburg Transit has 46 buses that serve 13 routes in Blacksburg and Christiansburg. Passengers can use BT to make connections to other bus lines, with service to places such as Radford, Roanoke and Washington, D.C. Rides are free to students who present their Hokie Passports.

Smart Way: The Smart Way bus provides transportation between Squires Student Center and the Roanoke Valley; it costs $4 each way. Monday through Saturday, this shuttle can be used to connect to the Amtrak route to Washington, D.C. and the Roanoke Regional Airport. On Sundays, Smart Way offers a special transfer option to allow returning travelers to use the Roanoke/Blacksburg Airport Shuttle for $4. Monthly passes are available to Virginia Tech faculty, staff and students for 25 percent off the normal price.

Zimride: Zimride’s Virginia Tech carpooling board allows users to post in search of rides or to offer rides of their own. Money can be exchanged through their secure platform.

Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport: The Roanoke-Blacksburg regional airport offers daily flights to eight major American cities, including Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta and Washington, D.C. 

Campus-to-Campus Bus: Virginia Tech’s Campus-to-Campus Bus provides employees, students and their guests with safe and convenient transportation between the university's campuses in the Blacksburg/Roanoke and Ballston/Arlington areas. Home Ride of Virginia: The Home Ride bus is a private company that provides students with weekend and holiday bus service from Lane Stadium to Northern Virginia, Harrisonburg, Charlottesville, Richmond and the Tidewater Area. Tickets may be purchased at the University Bookstore.

Amtrak: Students can travel from Blacksburg to the newly opened Amtrak platorm in Roanoke, Virginia. Check the Smart Way bus schedule for ways to reach this platform from the Blacksburg campus.

College Transit: College Transit is a bus service that transports students between Lane Stadium and metro areas in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.

Virginia Breeze:The Virginia Breeze is a new intercity bus service connecting Blacksburg with Union Station in Washington, D.C. The daily route includes several stops in the New River Valley, Shendandoah Valley, and Northern Virginia.
