Offices on the Blacksburg campus are now open.

War Memorial gym opened at its normal time of 5:30 a.m. McComas Hall will open at 8 a.m. today.

Squires Student Center,  the Graduate Life Center, and Johnston Student Center will open at 9 a.m. Dining venues in all buildings will open with the buildings. The BreakZONE and administrative offices will open at 10 a.m. along with campus.

The passport acceptance facility and the ticket office will open at their regularly scheduled time of noon.

The Schiffert Health Center and Cook Counseling Center will open at 10 a.m.

Classes at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine are canceled for Wednesday for M1 and M2 students. For M3 and M4 students on clinical rotations, there will be no assumed cancellation due to inclement weather. If clinical activities are cancelled, the clerkship or rotation director will be in touch with the affected students individually.

Because of the delayed opening of the Blacksburg campus, these locations for dining services will operate on the following hours:

Turner Place at Lavery Hall opening at 9 a.m.
Au Bon Pain at Goodwin Hall opening at 9 a.m.
Au Bon Pain at Graduate Life Center opening at 9 a.m.
Au Bon Pain at Squires Student Center opening 9 a.m.
VetMed Café is closed.
Dining Services Food trucks will not operate today.
 
Breakfast locations of Dunkin Donuts and Chick-fil-A at Hokie Grill, DXpress, D2 and Deet’s Place at Dietrick Hall all operating normal breakfast hours.

All other locations are scheduled to operate on their normal schedules.

Due to inclement weather conditions, administrative offices at the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg will be closed until 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018. University staff designated "emergency personnel" must report as instructed by their supervisor.

Classes scheduled to start at 8 a.m. and 9:05 a.m. have been canceled. Classes beginning at 10:10 a.m. will be held as scheduled.

Offices in the National Capital Region are closed today.

Group exercise and small group training classes scheduled for 6 a.m., 7:15 a.m., and 8 a.m. in Blacksburg have been canceled.

The Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center is closed for outpatient appointments and elective cases for Wednesday, March 21. Essential personnel should report as scheduled.

The center will be open for emergency cases and staffed to attend to current patients.

Newman Library will close at 8 p.m. The library is scheduled to reopen at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the Blacksburg area to take effect at 12 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21.

In anticipation of wintry weather beginning later tonight, Virginia Tech has declared a snow emergency to take effect at 8 p.m. This designation goes into effect when road conditions deteriorate to the point where road travel is difficult. Generally, this occurs when the road is significantly iced or approximately 3-4 inches of snow has fallen.

Offices in the National Capital Region will close at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday March 20, 2018 due to the impending winter weather.  Conditions will be monitored throughout the evening.
