Snow routes are no longer in effect. Blacksburg Transit has resumed normal service. The University Library and Math Emporium are open today.

Squires Student Center will close at 7:30 p.m. All activities are canceled

Blacksburg Transit will cease operations at 7:45 p.m.

The Math Emporium has closed. Weather permitting, it will open at noon on Sunday, March 25.

The Graduate Life Center will be closed Saturday and Squires Student Center has adjusted its hours. Squires will close at 10 p.m. on Saturday and open at noon on Sunday.

The Ring Dance and ceremony will end early on Saturday. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. at Squires, the ceremony will begin at 8 p.m., and the dance will end at 10 p.m.

The Newman Library will not be open Saturday, March 24, because of the weather. It is scheduled to reopen at 9 a.m. Sunday, March 25. Torgersen Bridge, with the exception of the Media Design Studio, will be open on Saturday.

The Moss Arts Center box office and galleries will be open on Saturday, March 24 from 10 a.m-2 p.m. Hours for “Shakespeare's Garden: An Immersive Sound Stroll Through His Sonnets, Sililoquies, and Scenes” in the Cube on Saturday, March 24 have been changed to 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Please note the performance “Bingeworthy Journalism” by Sarah Koenig and Julie Snyder scheduled for Saturday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m. has been canceled due to inclement weather. The Moss Arts Center is working to reschedule a date with Koenig and Snyder. Ticket holders can retain their tickets and will be notified them of the new date, or they can request a credit toward the purchase of tickets for another Moss Arts Center performance. Contact the box office at 540-231-5300.

The building will be closed on Sunday, March 25, and the School of Performing Arts’ Music Expo event has been canceled.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the Blacksburg area to take effect at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 24.

In anticipation of wintry weather beginning Saturday morning, Virginia Tech has declared a snow emergency to take effect at midnight. This designation goes into effect when road conditions deteriorate to the point where road travel is difficult. Generally, this occurs when the road is significantly iced or approximately 3-4 inches of snow has fallen.

In anticipation of winter weather this Saturday, March 24, the Undergraduate Admissions office has canceled the Hokie Preview event. Details can be found on the admissions website.
