Christina Miller joins College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences as director of alumni relations

The Virginia Tech College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences has named Christina Miller its director of alumni relations.

In her new position, Miller will lead engagement of the college’s more than 60,000 graduates, the university’s second largest alumni body. Miller will organize events, provide opportunities for networking, and create relationship-building outreach and programming.

“We are excited to welcome Christina to our advancement team,” said Daniel Cleveland, assistant dean of advancement for the college. “Her decade of professional success, experience with volunteer-led boards, and ability to create engagement opportunities for our alumni will be wonderful complements to our college’s rich history of achievement.”

Miller most recently served as associate director of alumni relations at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. There, she managed affinity programs, four regional leadership teams, the 50th class reunion committee, and the Alumni Council’s Communications Committee.

“We’re delighted to have such an experienced alumni engagement professional join our advancement team,” said Deborah Day, Virginia Tech’s associate vice president for alumni relations and a triple graduate of the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, having earned a bachelor’s degree in communication in 1984, a master’s degree in education in 1993, and a doctorate in higher education last month. “Christina is the perfect fit for the college and alumni relations. She’s already encouraging us to think differently about how we engage our second largest and most diverse college alumni body.”

Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in history and English and a master’s degree in nonprofit leadership from Juniata College.
