A message from President Tim Sands regarding Hurricane Florence
September 14, 2018
To the Virginia Tech community,
Our thoughts and concerns are with all those in the path of the hurricane currently moving across the Carolinas, including many of our sister institutions. I know the Virginia Tech community has faculty, staff, students, parents, family, and friends who are affected by the storm. Our hearts go out to all of you, and we are here to support you in any way we can.
While the impact of the storm on Blacksburg and our other campus locations across the commonwealth is still unclear, the health, welfare and safety of all is our primary concern. We will continue to prepare as needed and keep our community informed. All information and updates can be found on our Status Page. We will monitor the situation closely, and have every confidence that whatever actions are needed, the Virginia Tech community will respond quickly and look out for each other.
President, Virginia Tech
