Media outlets are invited to observe Virginia Tech Air Force ROTC students train with U.S. Air Force pilots in the operations of the T-6 Texan training aircraft. 16 ROTC students from the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets will get to fly with a pilot, experience aerobatic maneuvers and interact with members of the crew.  

What: The T-6 is a training plane with two seats. Four pilots and one plane will remain on the ground at all times for students and media to interact with. Media will have opportunity to interview cadets, Air Force personnel, and alumni including 3 Virginia Tech graduates who are members of the flight crew.  In addition to the Virginia Tech cadets, local Junior ROTC groups from Roanoke-area high schools have also been invited.

When:  Saturday, February 9 and Sunday, February 10, 2019.  Best window for media coverage both days will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.   

Where:  Signature Flight Support Terminal, Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport, Roanoke
