The University Libraries will host a celebration of authorship on March 21, 2019, from 5 - 7 p.m. in the fourth floor commons, Newman Library.

The 14th Annual VT Authors Recognition Event will honor 106 Virginia Tech book authors who published in 2018 and 221 others who published articles as a result of a grant from the University Libraries’ Open Access Subvention Fund.

“In the University Libraries, we believe it is important to share scholarship created by the Virginia Tech community,” said Dean of the University Libraries Tyler Walters. “We are dedicated, through VT Publishing and our open access endeavors, to assisting the university in its land-grant mission — to promote discovery and dissemination of new knowledge.”

“This annual celebration of Virginia Tech authors is one of my favorite events of the year,” said University Libraries Publishing Director Peter Potter. “It gives us all in the University Libraries a chance to salute the hard work and dedication of the always diverse group of authors from programs, offices, and colleges across the university. It also aligns perfectly with the mission of VT Publishing to increase the visibility of scholarly and creative work produced at Virginia Tech.”
