The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine will welcome its 10th class on Monday, July 29. As of July 22, 43 students will be part of the new class.

The class of 2023 will begin with a week-long orientation to become familiar with the medical school and surrounding community as well as some coursework. Their regular class schedule begins the following week on Monday, Aug. 5.

The class will take a group photo at 9 a.m. on the front steps of the medical school building, located at 2 Riverside Circle in Roanoke, Virginia. Media are welcome to come at this time. Following the class photo, the media may request brief interviews with the new students and/or school leadership.

This is the first new class to arrive under the leadership of Lee Learman, the new dean for the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Learman officially began as dean on July 1. He is also available for brief media interviews directly after the class photo.
