Spring Family Weekend only happens once a year, so don’t miss it! From Friday, April 13 through Sunday, April 15, there will be a game show held at Squires, the grand opening of the new baseball stadium English Field at Union Park, a family tailgate, the spring football game, and so much more Hokie family fun! A complete schedule of Spring Family Weekend events is available online.

Do you miss jumping to "Enter Sandman"? Is one of your family members an extraordinary cook? Are you a family who runs a 5k on holidays? Is your family a true Hokie family? If you answered yes to any of these questions, Spring Family Weekend is for you!

  • Spring Family Weekend 2018 is kicking off with the first Experiential Learning Conference, where undergraduate students will be showcasing their research, service-learning, study abroad, and other curricular and co-curricular experiences.

  • You can wake up bright and early Saturday morning to participate in the 3.2 Run in Remembrance, which brings Hokies together, to feel the support of the community, and to celebrate the lives of our friends and family members.

  • After all of the calories you burn on the run, you’ll be ready for a Spring Family Weekend Tailgate, hosted by Student Affairs Family and Alumni Relations, with chicken wings, build-your-own nachos, burgers, a soft pretzel bar, and so much more! Tickets are available for purchase online.

  • By this point, you’ll be pumped up and ready to jump to "Enter Sandman" and enjoy the free 2018 Spring Game in Lane Stadium. During the game, you’ll be introduced to the 2018 Virginia Tech Family of the Year.

  • You may sleep in Sunday morning and think that excitement of the weekend is over, but don’t go back home or return to studying just yet. If you, your dad, or your 5-year old sister (sorry no dog chefs allowed this year) is an excellent cook, there will be two different times for family cook-off competitions held at D2 Dining Center on Sunday, complete with prizes for the winning teams. Teams can sign up at D2 throughout Spring Family Weekend, or email Gabe Petry at gmpetry@vt.edu.

We hope to see you April 13-15 wearing your orange and maroon – ready to celebrate being a Hokie!
