Newman Library small group study rooms are now reservable
From: University Libraries
Students and faculty can reserve any of the five study rooms near the Cadet Museum on the fourth floor of Newman Library by visiting bookings.lib.vt.edu and selecting an available time.
Kiosks are available outside of the study rooms and on the second floor beside the Newman Library Services Desk that will allow users to reserve the spaces on the spot.
These study rooms are reservable any time the Newman Library is open, except from 3 - 6 a.m. for cleaning.
"While there are a number of first-come first-serve study rooms available in the library, we made these study rooms bookable because we knew that the library is a popular desination for studying, collaborative project work, and a range of other creative activities," said Patrick Tomlin, Director of Learning Environments for the University Libraries.
"As a result finding a space to work, particularly for groups, can sometimes be a challenge," said Tomlin. "We wanted to give students the ability to secure a spot to work in advance, and with the flexibility and convenience to make reservations from anywhere."
Study rooms are one of a number of resources students can reserve through bookings.lib.vt.edu, including sound booths, laptops, cameras, audio visual equipment and a range of digital media technology.
