For the past several months, Virginia Tech employees have donated generously to charities across Virginia through the 2019 Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign. Some senior management areas have been particularly creative in how they raised money and encouraged employees to donate.
As the holiday season approaches, we are reminded of the importance of giving back, even if it is in small ways. One way to give back is to donate to a charity that helps make someone else’s holidays great through the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign.
Through the contributions of nearly 1,550 faculty and staff, we are excited to announce that we exceeded our 2018 Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign goal of $375,000. We raised a total of $379,431. Many thanks to each and everyone who supported this year’s campaign.
The final weeks of Virginia Tech’s Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign fall during the holiday season. During this time, it is crucial for charities to receive donations to meet the rising demand for their services.

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday and with only a few weeks remaining in the campaign, employees are encouraged to continue donating.
The 2018 Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) is a little over one month out and we have raised $140,000. Although this is a great start, we are slightly behind last year’s percentage of reaching our goal. The campaign runs until Friday, Dec. 14, so we have 53 days remaining. We can do this!
