SERVE living-learning community to be incorporated into Leadership and Social Change Residential College

From: Student Affairs

This spring, Housing and Residence Life announced the creation of a third residential college – the Leadership and Social Change Residential College (LSCRC) – which replaced the Residential Leadership Community (RLC). Beginning Fall 2018, SERVE living-learning community will be incorporated into the LSCRC in an effort to develop community-minded, active citizens and civically engaged student leaders.

The creation of this new residential college yields an opportunity for SERVE to evolve, as the philosophy and goals of this living-learning community closely align with the mission of LSCRC. We’re confident that this will be a very similar learning experience for students, and that we will have the opportunity to be thoughtful about maximizing resources to support the LSCRC.

SERVE has been incredibly successful in its 10 years at Virginia Tech, contributing to both the university and New River Valley communities. We are excited to continue leveraging resources to meet community-identified needs.
