Volunteers take a break from helping students and families during move-in 2017.

From: Student Affairs

Next week, more than 9,000 new and returning Hokies will be moving into our residence halls. To ensure that all on-campus Hokies have a memorable move-in experience, we need your help!

Hokie Helpers play a major role in welcoming new students and smoothing the process of student move-in. Volunteers are stationed in six tents around campus to greet families, check-out carts, distribute water, assist with moving items to rooms, and more.

Please consider volunteering for one or more shifts. We would greatly appreciate your help!

Available Volunteer Shifts:

Wednesday (8/15), Thursday (8/16), Friday (8/17):

  • Morning from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Mid-Day from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Afternoon from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Saturday (8/18)

More volunteers are needed at all tents! Registration is available online. Feel free to share widely and invite a friend or colleague who might be interested to join you.
