Town-gown meeting April 18 focused on how the town and campus work together
From: Student Affairs
The focus of the April Town-Gown meeting will be Working Together: Blacksburg and Virginia Tech Senior Leaders Talk, featuring Blacksburg Deputy Town Manager Steven Ross and Senior Vice President of Operations and Administration at Virginia Tech Dewayne Pinkney. Senior Associate Vice President Frank Shushok will moderate. This meeting will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 18 in the Great Room of Ambler Johnston Residence Hall located at 700 Washington Street. Students, faculty, staff, and town residents are invited to attend.
These collaborative forums are facilitated by the town-gown committee, a group made up of Virginia Tech and Town of Blacksburg representatives. The town-gown committee holds six monthly gatherings each academic year on issues that generate conversation across campus and throughout Blacksburg. Student voices are a key part of the meetings, with members of the Virginia Tech Student Life Council taking an active role in the discussions. The meetings are open to all interested members of the town and university communities.
This is the final town-gown meeting for the 2018-19 academic year.
