On the heels of the successful first ever ACCelerate: ACC Smithsonian Creativity and Innovation Festival in Washington, D.C., the Institute for Creativity, Arts and Technology in partnership with the Lemelson Center for the Study of Innovation are seeking exemplar transdisciplinary projects to represent Virginia Tech at the next festival in the spring of 2019 at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
Projects can be submitted through an online survey. Submissions will be evaluated based on completion/readiness and potential to actively engage the festival audience.
The deadline for project consideration for the festival is May 11, 2018. Top Virginia Tech projects will be selected for ACC and Smithsonian review and evaluation in August 2018. Notifications of final acceptance for the festival will be in September 2018.
The first ACCelerate festival was held on October 13-15, 2017 and drew a crowd of 36,000 participants. Find more information about the 2017 festival online.
