As part of the Be Hokie Ready program, Incident Command System (ICS) training classes are offered through Virginia Tech Emergency Management and free for all faculty, staff, and students. Registration is open for fall 2019 training sessions.

Two classes are currently open for registration:

  • ICS 100 - Introduction to ICS – Tuesday, Sept. 17 from 1 – 5 p.m.
  • ICS 200 - Basic ICS for Initial Response - Thursday, Oct. 17 from 1 – 5 p.m.

Both sessions will be held in the Public Safety Building, 2nd floor, Emergency Operations Center (330 Sterrett Drive, Blacksburg).

The classes are designed to be utilized in a blended learning format. Certificates for ICS training are issued from FEMA. These classes are designed to prepare attendees to take the required test for each level of ICS training. Additional learning resources are available on the FEMA site.

This training is free to all faculty, staff, and students, but registration is required. Visit Emergency Management's website to learn more about other training opportunities.
