From: Virginia Tech Emergency Management

As part of the Stop the Bleed Program, Bleeding Control (Stop the Bleed) training classes are offered through Virginia Tech Emergency Management in partnership with Virginia Tech Rescue Squad. Registration is open for fall 2019 training sessions.

Four classes are currently open for registration:

  • Thursday, Sept. 19 from 3 – 5 p.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 7 from 3 – 5 p.m.
  • Tuesday Oct. 22 from 6 – 8 p.m.
  • Tuesday Nov. 19 from 1 – 3 p.m.

All sessions will be held in the Public Safety Building, 2nd floor, Emergency Operations Center (330 Sterrett Drive, Blacksburg VA).

The two hour B-Con training includes the program review, bleeding control information, and hands-on tourniquet and wound management. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the course.

This training is free to all faculty, staff, and students, but registration is required.  Visit Emergency Management’s website to learn more about the Stop the Bleed Program.
