From: University Relations

To ensure the accurate dissemination of public health information and consistency of design of signage across all campus locations, Virginia Tech will engage a centralized process to approve and install semi-permanent COVID-19-related signage in public-facing university spaces in campus locations across the commonwealth, including Blacksburg, Greater Washington, D.C. metro region, Roanoke, and ARECs.

Among these public spaces are building entrances, elevators, classrooms, stairwells, hallways, water fountains, residence halls, dining halls, outdoor grounds, and more.

Ahead of the shift towards increased on-campus operations this summer and fall, colleges and departments are asked to refrain from hanging COVID-19-related signage in these public-facing areas. As this centralized signage process evolves, updates and further guidance around the installation process will be shared via the VT Daily News and at in the coming weeks. Updates will also be shared with college and departmental communications, facilities, and HR teams in the coming weeks so signage can be in place by early-to-mid August.

For signage needs within office suites, labs, front desks, waiting areas, conference rooms, and more, colleges and departments are encouraged to access the COVID-19 and public health creative resources available for download and self-serve printing at Units are asked to access this inventory instead of creating their own signage.

Resource topics include physical distancing, hand washing, face coverings, wayfinding, and more. The resources will be in multiple formats like flyers, stickers/decals/clings, and social media graphics. Additional creative resources will be added to the page as they are developed.
