From: Hokie Wellness

Join Hokie Wellness for Mindful Mondays from 12-1 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 11, at the Solitude House, 705 West Campus Drive, during the fall semester.

Mindfulness is paying attention on purpose, non-judgmentally, and with curiosity and acceptance to the present moment. Meditation is one of the ways to learn and practice how to be mindful.

Employees and students are invited to drop in on Mindful Monday gatherings based upon their availability throughout the fall semester. The hour will consist of 15 minutes of gentle guided mindfulness practice and discussion, followed by 45 minutes of mindful activity of the participant’s choice.  This time can be used for quiet self-reflection, contemplation, prayer, meditation, or mindful movement. Research studies show that mindfulness practice reduces stress and anxiety, and increases resilience, wisdom, and authenticity.

Registration is not required to attend Mindful Mondays, just quietly drop in.
