Donate to COVID-19 relief through the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign

From: Human Resources

The Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC), an annual giving campaign to support charities across Virginia, has launched a special campaign to raise money for charities that are supporting COVID-19 relief.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted many people’s lives, including those within our community. These disruptions have increased costs for many charities, which now need additional funds to support those who are most vulnerable during this time. Donations will go towards housing, food, medical expenses, and other types of support for people who have been severely impacted by this pandemic.

COVID-19 donations to this effort will go directly the CVC and be distributed to the charity of your choice. These one-time donations are separate from payroll deductions that you may already have in place. For more information or to donate go to the CVC COVID-19 page.  Please note when selecting your agency that Virginia Tech is listed as #208 – Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University or #229 – Virginia Cooperative Extension and Agriculture Experience Station.  You can specify your donation go to local agencies by selecting the agency and code.  View a list of local agencies here.

CVC is administered by the Division of Human Resources and led by a steering team made up of university department representatives. Questions or assistance should be directed to the HR Service Center at or 540-231-9331. More information can be found on the CVC website.
