Call for nominations: 2019 Diggs Teaching Scholar Award
From: Diggs Teaching Scholar Association
The Diggs Teaching Scholar Association invites nominations for the 2019 Diggs Teaching Scholar Award. Established in 1992, this award recognizes educators who model innovative pedagogical practices that advance, challenge, and/or unsettle existing conventions of teaching and learning. Diggs Teaching Scholars are dedicated to distinguished teaching and scholarship, especially devoted to enhancing the undergraduate learning environment across departments and disciplines throughout Virginia Tech. To learn more about Diggs, visit: https://teaching.vt.edu/grantsandawards/awards/diggs.html
This award is open to Virginia Tech educators at all levels (i.e., named and full professors, associate and assistant professors, adjunct faculty, instructors, and graduate teaching assistants). Award recipients are provided grant support for disseminating their instructional innovations through a teaching enhancement project, and are expected to serve in the Diggs community for three years. We encourage nominations for teaching enhancement projects that focus on critical and inclusive pedagogy in all disciplines at Virginia Tech, and include civic engagement, socially engaged pedagogy, and social justice. We welcome nominations for individuals or teams of up to 4 people.
Nominations are due on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019. For more information on the application process, visit: https://teaching.vt.edu/grantsandawards/awards/diggs/2018-call-for-nominations.html
