Virginia Tech documenting rural development efforts

From: Office of Economic Development

President Tim Sands chairs the Rural Virginia Initiative, a collaboration between Virginia Tech, the University of Virginia, and Virginia State University to identify and enhance rural development efforts.

As part of this initiative, Virginia Tech needs your help to catalog the university’s projects throughout rural Virginia.

Please share the following survey link with the faculty and administrators in your area: https://virginiatech.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_2n7dSZlLzyq2IDj. The survey is not only critical to the inventory of programs, but it helps promote your work as well.

Goals going forward are to raise awareness of the role of higher education in the development of rural Virginia, to connect faculty, communities, and funding with shared interests, and develop new cross-sector ideas for rural development.

Please contact John Provo, director of Virginia Tech’s Office of Economic Development, at jprovo@vt.edu with any questions or comments.
