The Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost and the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning announced the launch of the Faculty Writing Group Grant Program.
The program is designed to encourage tenured faculty to form collaborative support networks outside of their home departments and colleges, and to encourage research and writing productivity in support of their career advancement at Virginia Tech.
To assist in the development of their projects, faculty and other interested participants can join Provost's office staff at several hands-on information sessions. The sessions will offer a brief overview of the program, discussion of projects with other faculty members, planning your proposal with your group, meeting other faculty to network and form a writing group, and opportunities to ask questions about the program and proposal process.
Awarded groups will receive a $2,000 grant toward their proposed goals. In the program’s pilot year (2018-19), up to five grants will be funded.
For more information about the program, contact Rachel Gabriele, assistant provost for faculty initiatives and policies, at 540-231-4508 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
