Special enrollment options provide opportunities, flexibility for incoming students in select majors

In an effort to accommodate Virginia Tech’s largest incoming class and enhance student services, the university has developed special enrollment options specifically for incoming in-state students in academic majors that are projected to have higher-than-anticipated enrollments.
More first-year students than expected accepted offers of admission to Virginia Tech for fall 2019. The special enrollment options provide the university with opportunities to better serve and support the entire student community and enable incoming students to select an enrollment option that allow them to get an early start on college, take advantage of alternative co-curricular learning experiences, and make the cost of a Virginia Tech education more affordable.
Incoming students in select majors who have received a personal invitation to participate in the special enrollment option program, must complete the program application no later than June 6. Spaces are limited and approvals are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. Virginia Tech will notify students of the outcome of their applications no later than June 14.
Declining to participate in the special enrollment option program does not affect a student’s current status as an accepted student to Virginia Tech.
