Hokie Wellness to offer New Year Wellness Refresh

From: Hokie Wellness

Many of us begin the new year with fresh motivation and a hefty list of resolutions, willing that this will be the year we finally stick to our goals. However, according to U.S. News and World Report, the failure rate for resolutions is at least 80 percent, with most folks losing their determination by mid-February.

Whether the reason for our goals fizzling out is a lack of motivation, not setting attainable goals, or other reasons, there must be a better way.  This year, Hokie Wellness wants to help employees find that better way. On Jan. 1, 2021, a New Year Wellness Refresh email series will launch, designed to help employees set goals for long-term success and dig deep for the motivation that really matters. Topics covered include the following:

  • How to set goals that are meaningful, attainable, and realistic.
  • Simple and effective strategies to attach to goals in ways that feel authentic rather than forced.
  • How to begin looking at success through a different lens and keep a positive mindset even when progress feels slow.
  • How to plan for long-term success, adjust goals where necessary, and celebrate goal milestones.

Each week for eight weeks, employees will receive a Monday morning email related to the topics listed above containing opportunities to engage with helpful podcasts, articles, and/or short videos diving deeper into each topic. Each email will also offer an opportunity for weekly goal reflection as well as space to set intentions and action steps for the upcoming week.

Registration is required. For more information, please contact Hokie Wellness at hokiewellness@vt.edu.
