COVID-19 related leave update

COVID-19 leave information has been updated. Please review the following updated information.

Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA)

This notice is to remind employees that the additional leave benefit, available to many employees provided by the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), expired Dec. 31, 2020 and will not be extended.

Public Health Emergency Leave (PHEL)

Public Health Emergency Leave (PHEL) balances will replenish, effective Jan. 10, 2021, for eligible employees that have qualifying COVID-19 related situations.

New: Employees who have available PHEL may use a reasonable amount of the leave to arrange for their dependent’s virtual education needs, if schools have changed their learning modes.

Employees will continue to engage with department managers/supervisors and HR practitioners for the PHEL benefit.

Once these referenced leave balances are exhausted, employees will need to utilize applicable regular leave benefits to cover COVID-19 related situations.
