Talent Development delivers strategic learning opportunities for all Virginia Tech employees that promote individual and organizational excellence through effective employee and leadership development programs. Whether it’s enhanced software skills or honing leadership skills in our two new management development programs beginning in 2020 (Fast Track for New Supervisors and a management program for experienced managers , directors and department heads which is under development) and leaders, our team provides skills employees can use for their continuous career development.
We help employees meet their personal development goals while fostering an inclusive and engaged culture of excellence. We collaborate to design and develop innovative training programs that promote individual and organizational excellence. As a strategic part of the Division of Human Resources, we are here to serve employees, and in turn, help them serve the Virginia Tech community and go Beyond Boundaries to meet the university's mission.
NEW in January! Fast Track for New Supervisors is designed for new supervisors who have been in their role for less than a year. The program consists of four modules (Leading Self, Leading Others, Leading Teams, and Leading Strategically) provided in a blended active learning format (instructor-led and online) which allows supervisors to spend more time on the job and less in the classroom.
