Seed funding for junior faculty: Apply by Feb. 3

The Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science (ICTAS) is accepting applications for its Junior Faculty Awards seed-investment program. This program provides up to $40,000 in the first year, renewable for a second year with adequate progress, to a junior Virginia Tech faculty member who has identified an interdisciplinary research partnership with at least one other member of the Virginia Tech faculty. The focus is on building teams with strong potential for external funding in emerging areas of science and technology aligned with Virginia Tech's Destination Areas.
Proposals are due at 5 p.m. on Feb. 3, 2020. Awards will be announced on or about Feb. 24, with anticipated support to begin July 1. ICTAS will fund up to five new awards each year for a steady state of 10 ongoing investments. More details and application instructions can be found here.
